Great News! Submissions Can Now Be Made Directly to Your Individual ENA Webin Account

We are pleased to introduce a new enhancement. Submissions can now be made directly to your European Nucleotide Archive (ENA) Webin account from COPO.

This new functionality took effect from September 2026. It gives users greater control over ownership of their published metadata submissions while allowing them to update their metadata directly through their ENA Webin account. Any metadata updates made in ENA will then be synchronised with the corresponding record in COPO.

Users can still make submissions to COPO's Webin account if needed. This feature is optional and is designed to improve the overall submission experience thereby giving users more control over how their metadata is managed and making it easier for them to share their published data with their own audiences.

We look forward to seeing how you make the most of it.
